The caller described how the dog had been crying, her paws scraping against the stone as she tried to keep herself above water. When the rescue team arrived, the heartbreaking scene confirmed the urgency.
In the dim light at the bottom of the well, the dog’s pale coat shimmered beneath the murky water. She was perched on a small ledge, shivering, her exhausted eyes locked onto the rescuers above. Every few moments, she would slip into the water, paddling frantically before grasping the rocks again. It was clear—her strength was failing.
A Fight Against Time and Fatigue

The team quickly assessed the situation. The well was deep and narrow, with no easy way for the dog to climb out on her own. There was no way of knowing how long she had been down there, but from the way she struggled to keep her head above water, it could have been hours.

Descending Into Darkness

The only way to reach her was to climb down. A rescuer put on a harness, secured a rope, and carefully began his descent into the well. The jagged rocks made each movement difficult.
As he got closer, the dog’s eyes followed him, her gaze filled with both fear and hope. When he reached the water, she let go of the wall entirely, surrendering to exhaustion. She was too weak to resist.
With steady hands, the rescuer lifted her, wrapping his arms around her fragile body. She didn’t fight back. She was cold, trembling, and too tired to move.

Reaching Safety

As the net rose inch by inch, the rescuers above held their breath. The dog remained completely still—whether from exhaustion or relief, they couldn’t tell. Finally, as she reached the surface, multiple hands reached out to carry her to solid ground.
She collapsed on the dry earth, her chest rising and falling with rapid, shallow breaths. The team immediately rushed her to the rescue center, knowing she would need medical attention after her harrowing ordeal.
A Second Chance

At the rescue center, veterinarians carefully examined her. Her paws were raw, her nails worn down from desperately clinging to the rough stone walls. Small cuts covered her legs, evidence of the hours she had spent scraping against the rocks, trying to survive.
